Diane Arbus

Diane Arbus was  born on March 14th, 1923 in New York City. Diane was an interesting photographer because she took photos of things out of the ordinary such as dwarfs, kids with disabilities and transgender people. Because of this she was often criticized. She would later commit suicide on July 26th, 1971 due to mental health issues. I find her work interesting because I feel like she addressed the elephant in the room and acknowledge these kinds of people. Her work would be recognized later on by many people.

Annie Levibovitz was born on October 2nd, in Waterbury, Connecticut. She was well known for doing album covers and magazines. She also photographed John Lennon on the day he was assassinated. She was inspired by photographers such as Robert Frank and Henri Cartier-Bresson. She became chief photographer for Rolling Stone magazine. Annie became the first woman to hold an exhibition at Washington's National Portrait Gallery in 1991. Student Show

One of our assignments included a student show. There were many students who submitted their work from all over the art department. We had pictures to paintings to sculptures. It was a fun experience and I got to see some really good artwork. I submitted this picture and I title it "The Old Times". I had a to figure out if I wanted to make it colored or black and white. I eventually made it with color. .
